3 Important Facts About Using The Tea Tree Oil Acne Cure

Tea tree oil is a natural substance distilled from the leaves of Melaleuca Alternifolia – an Australian plant. It is a light yellow oil which has anti-fungal and antibacterial properties, and it is useful for a variety of treatments. Among its wide range of medicinal uses is the treatment of gingivitis, athlete’s foot, sunburn, blisters, warts and many other afflications, in addition to being an excellent treatment for acne.  We’re going to discuss three important guidelines for using tea tree oil, but you can see a more extensive discussion at: Tea Tree Oil Acne Treatment – A Natural Acne Remedy.

Tip 1: Don’t Use Too Much -

Tea tree oil is quite strong for attacking acne bacteria, but too much will dry out your skin. Simply apply 2 or 3 drops on to a cotton ball or Q-tip (not your finger) and apply it to the affected area. For a natural acne therapy, the tea tree oil acne treatment can work fast, often showing results in just a few days.

Tip 2: Use It In Pure Form – Not Diluted -

You may have found some authorities which warn against using tea tree oil in its pure form, and it can often be found in the form of a 5% solution – but there is no evidence that pure tea tree oil can harm you as long as you use only 2 or 3 drops. The pure form will have a more rapid and long lasting effect on your acne.  An alternative reasonably priced natural acne product can cure your acne from the inside out. Check it out at: Natural Acne Cure.

Tip 3: Let It Sit Overnight -

Although you should apply the tea tree oil acne treatment at least 2 or 3 times a day, the last application should be just before bed, and it should be allowed to remain undisturbed on the affected area throughout the night to insure the maximum absorption effect.

When used correctly the tea tree oil acne treatment can work fast, and it will have residual beneficial effects for 3 – 4 weeks. Although it will alleviate current acne infections, it can’t remove the underlying cause of future acne breakouts. The best preventive medicine for that is a healthy diet and a regimin of cleanliness - including regular washing with mild soap and water.

Tea tree oil in its pure form is available at most health food stores and on the internet. The pure form of tea tree oil is expensive enough, so avoid spending your money on fancy gels or creams that may have it in a diluted form. A reasonably priced alternative to tea tree oil can be found at: Permanent Acne Cure.
